Apr 17,2016·I got a note from my milk hauler last night that he saw butter balls in the bulk tank. This is something I've never ran across and I saw on a google search that it is due to milk agitation at a high temp.Thinking back to the first milking going into the tank, bulk tank temps were up at 70 degrees an hour into milking. This morning, bulk tank temp was 49 degrees at 45 minutes into milking.Cost of new tank compressor - Dairy ForumsFeb 25,2014·Our tank washer motor went on the blink, and the dairy supply company wanted to charge us $1000 for a new one.It was a nice motor, completely enclosed in stainless steel, but we had been using an open drip-proof motor since we got the tank,so I sourced an exact replacement-- for $200.
